Three-Star Accreditation by the United States Chamber of Commerce (pdf)

Welcome to Pleasant Hill!

Marian Woodard, Chamber President

Thank you for exploring one of Pleasant Hill's most valuable information resources - the Chamber of Commerce website. As we enter our 54th year, we continue the mission to serve our individual Chamber members, as well as the greater Pleasant Hill community.

The Pleasant Hill, California Chamber of Commerce is recognized as a tour de force within our fine City. With annual membership increases of 22% over the past year, we are 450 members strong and still growing. We take special pride in having earned three-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 2005. Such validation tells us that our members value our services, our Chamber operations are sound, and we are prepared to meet the future needs of your business.

We remain resolute in pursuing our Chamber Mission:  To promote and meet local business needs, provide added value to our members, and enhance the quality of life within our community.

Our accomplishments in recent years are particularly relevant, including:

  • Establishment of a formal Advocacy Policy which enables us to weigh in on important City issues, such as the continued redevelopment of the new Kohl's shopping center

  • Production of the Pleasant Hill's popular Art, Jazz & Wine Fest to create myriad sponsorship opportunities for members to broadcast themselves to the community.

  • Orchestration of our successful Business Showcase in Spring as well as the Tri-Chamber Business Expo in the Fall to facilitate your meeting hundreds of future patrons on a personal level.

  • Partnership with local schools to reward accomplished students and teachers.

  • Partnerships with other local chambers of commerce to work on regional issues.

  • Redevelopment of this website to make it more valuable for our members, other local businesses and citizens.

I am looking forward to 2008 as another outstanding year for the Chamber. I am thrilled to be working with such an impressive and committed Board of Directors and Ambassador Group. I delight in meeting our members at the many social and networking events we sponsor throughout the year - and if you haven't been to a monthly Chamber Mixer, you're really missing out on something special!

So come make your Chamber membership work for you. The more you put in, the more you get out. We pride ourselves on really knowing our members — professionally and personally. It is no surprise that in the 2005 Member Survey, a rousing 98 percent of respondents found value in belonging to the Pleasant Hill Chamber. Be sure that you're one of them by participating in any way you can. I hope to see you soon!

With warm regards,

Marian Woodard
President
