Agent 2000 - Derek Knapp

For this week’s #MemberMonday, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Derek Knapp and his sister Laurie Limrite who run the family business, #Agent2000, Commercial and Personal Insurance Brokers. Their dad started the business back in 1975 with another partner under a different name. In 1996, the name changed to Agent 2000 and became solely owned by the Knapp Family. Derek and his sister have been a part of the business for as long as they can remember. Insurance is in the family blood. Agent 2000 is located at 3585 Clayton Road in Concord. While sitting down with Derek and his sister Laurie we discovered a deep connection in finding out that she knew my father and handled his company’s insurance policies and some personal lines as well for many years. In fact, she honed her contract review skills by assisting his company.  As the anniversary of my father’s passing was last week, it was touching to know that she knew my father. He was the type that researched everything before he did it; so if he trusted Agent 2000 to handle both personal and business insurance they surely have my vote. 

Derek and his wife Lori have four daughters. Derek grew up in #PleasantHill and attended all the local public schools. Derek is an active member of the #PleasantHillChamber, acting as an ambassador without the title (he has a conflict with the meetings). He has had significant growth in his company since he joined the #Chamber back in 2015. Not only has he gained clients through the Chamber but many friendships have been developed along the way. His power partners are commercial realtors, CPAs, bookkeepers and business consultants. His organizational skills have significantly improved over the years as he has had to learn how to juggle many tasks simultaneously.
