Kids N Cribs

Kids N Cribs

Kids N Cribs was built out of necessity over 37 years ago. It all started in 1982, with Mike’s parents, George and Lynne Marini as “Such a Deal.” Then, in 1990 the first #kidsncribs was born and located in Antioch. Mike's parents had a consignment store with kids’ clothes and accessories. The store eventually evolved into a clothing, furniture and accessories store for babies, toddlers and kids. Subsequently, they opened other locations throughout the years. Today, the single store primarily carries furniture, as well as baby gear, bedding, decor, infant care, toys and gifts.

In March of 2018, Mike’s parents retired and he and Antoinette took over the store full-time. It surely seems fitting, as this is where they met. Mike grew up in the store and he remembers running around the store as a toddler. As he grew older, he would spend weekends there helping his parents. In May of 2012, his dad hired Antoinette and as the saying goes, “the rest is history.” They both went to local schools including #CollegePark, #DelaSalle and #DVC.

Mike has one brother and grew up in the Antioch area, while Antoinette is an only child and grew up all around the #Bayarea. They don’t have any kids of their own yet, but they consider their fur babies their family.

They are considering holding some educational classes at the store in the future—perhaps CPR, parenting or nutrition. Now that the store has reached its one year anniversary in the new Pleasant Hill location, and their wedding is behind them, they are ready to get involved more deeply in the community. If they had to choose one thing they have learned by opening this store, it’s patience and determination. When I asked both of them where they would go if they could go anywhere they both said Italy. Mike, who is Italian, said Mexican is his favorite food and Antoinette who is Mexican says Italian is her favorite food. I guess they are a perfect match!

Mike and Antoinette work seven days a week; but when they do find time to relax, they love to head to the family cabin in Twain Harte. They enjoy gardening, home improvements, working on cars and spending time with their fur family.

If you have not yet been to their store you should check it out. It’s amazing the transformation the store underwent from the time they received it, to the day they opened their doors. For convenience, you can check them out online as well and order from their website

Their mission is to provide their customers with an experience that starts at birth and carries them all the way through to adulthood. They provide comprehensive customer care from the minute you call or walk in the door. They pride themselves on quality, education and the best possible experience as you begin your family. Antoniette is a certified car seat tech so it’s important to them to get your child into the safest possible seat. They provide one-on-one education and installation of your car seat.

Give them a call at 925-778-2229, or better yet, go see their darling store. I had a great time getting to know Mike and Antoinette with our #membermonday interview. I shared with them that I recently sold the furniture I purchased from the Antioch store back in 1991 when I was having my first child; so I can attest to the quality and value for sure!
