For this week's #TinaTuesday I had the privilege of speaking with Rob O'Reilly, COO at Stat Med Urgent Care.  I was actually a patient at Stat Med last week due to a knee injury, so I thought this would be a great Chamber member to highlight for this week's #TinaTuesday.

As Emergency Medicine specialists, they understood the need for exemplary care for all patients with a multitude of medical circumstances. A trip to the ER could be traumatic in and of itself, not to mention EXPENSIVE . They wanted an ER-level of care without the discomfort, chaos, and long waits of an emergency trip to the hospital (goal accomplished!!).  Did you know studies show that 70% of all ER visits are not for life-and-death emergencies and would be better treated in an urgent care facility — as long as that facility is staffed with experienced emergency doctors.

In January of this year they added a new program called Concussion Care.  They use an EEG machine (btw, the only one in the East Bay), to detect if there is a brain bleed after trauma to the head.  This machine is as accurate as a CT scan without the dizzying amount of radiation that you get from a CT scan.  This program is so very timely due to the amount of traumatic blows to the head that are occurring in sports now days. With 1000’s of head injury experiences, all STAT MED physicians know what is required for safe and effective recovery. That is why STAT MED offers the full spectrum of concussion services: evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, final assessment and, when needed, authorization to return to play, school or work.

STAT MED Urgent Care is contracted with all major commercial insurance companies, Medicare as well as CCHP (which is a managed MediCal program).  Are you an HMO Member? STAT MED offers affordable flat urgent care visit rates.  Don't have Insurance?  They offer significant discounts for cash paying patients, and they can work out a payment plan if needed.  They accept cash, checks, American Express, Visa, and MasterCard.
