For this week's #TinaTuesday I had the opportunity to sit down with Jeff Clark from Steven's Printing.  Jeff and his brother Steve (btw, not who the business is named after, more on that later), bought the business from their dad, Bob, in 1994.  But first, let's go back to the beginning.  In 1980, Bob bought Steven's printing from Steve Stein, who opened Steven's Printing back in 1975 in Walnut Creek, CA.  As teenagers both boys grew up working with their dad in the printing business, so it's no surprise that both Jeff and Steve went on to college and pursued a degree in printing (I didn't even know that existed ;-)).  After graduating from college (Jeff being 3 yrs older than Steve), they went back to working with their dad at Steven's Printing.  Bob (dad) gave them the option that if after 5 years of working there, they could choose to buy the business from him if they wanted it, and that's exactly what they did.  So, in 1994 Jeff and Steve bought the business and then in 1996 they moved the business to where it is now, 2489 Estand Way, Pleasant Hill, CA.  As you can imagine, after owning the business for 24 years, they have seen a lot of changes in technology when it comes to printing.  When they started, they used a digital printing press (and still do to this day actually), but now with technology growing so rapidly, the printing process has undergone some significant changes in it's machines as well.  With all of these changes in technology over the last 24 years, the printing process has sped up dramatically, significantly reducing the turnaround time on most of their printing jobs.

Jeff and Steve are very active in the community and give back to a lot of non-profits.  Steven's Printing has been a long time member of the PH Chamber and they help us out with so many of our printing needs, and we couldn't be anymore grateful! 

Some more fun facts about Steven's Printing...

  • They can print anything on paper
    • direct mail, binders, booklets, brochures, business cards, catalogs, letterhead, newsletters, programs postcards, envelopes (I could go on and on)
  • They do promotional items
    • apparel (we are getting PH Chamber jackets ;-), tradeshows pens, pads, mugs (again, I could go on and on)
  • If they can't print what you need, they will find someone who can.
  • They have Mailing Services
    • CASS Certification, National change of address, Inserting list management, etc
  • ​They can even help with color proofing, electronic proofing as well as design and editing
