This year has been unprecedented and has tested the human spirit in so many ways. Although extreme circumstances have occurred throughout modern history that has challenged our communities, this is the first event in most of our waking memories.
While we as a community, locally, nationally, and internationally were instructed to shelter in place in order to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 pandemic, others, like essential workers, heroes and medical professionals stayed at work to see to the needs of our community. Whether they were medical professionals in clinics and hospitals, or grocery store workers, or neighbors that checked on each other, this is what makes a hometown hero.
The Home Town Heroes Virtual event’s purpose is to take the time at the beginning of the holiday season when we, as a community can honor, and recognize the individuals, businesses, and organizations that truly showed how the human spirit can shine in these challenging times, and say THANK YOU!
